Holly Jones’ parents bring a close to Holly’s
Dollys with
the sale of two dolls that belonged to their daughter
The online event has raised more than $10,000 for
The Children’s Wish Foundation in memory of Holly
Toronto, ON. November 6, 2003 – After raising more than
$10,000 through the online sale of Holly’s Dollys on eBay.ca
over the last five weeks, Maria Jones and George Stonehouse,
the parents of Holly Jones, have decided to bring a close to
the online event with the sale of two dolls that belonged to
their daughter. The two stuffed animals are currently available
for bids on eBay Canada at www.ebay.ca/HollyDollys and all proceeds
will go to The Children’s Wish Foundation in memory of
Holly.
In a statement, Holly’s parents had this
to say:
“ We thank each and every person, from the bottom of our hearts,
who donated a stuffed animal to our family, enabling us to turn
them into Holly Dolly's, raise funds for other children and bring
happiness to many.
We are also thankful to each and every person that has put in
any kind of bid placed on our Holly Dolly's, we are very grateful
to all of you that have taken part in this very special fundraiser
and for all the messages that were sent in with these bids. We
are very sorry for those who were not successful in winning a
Holly Dolly, but thank you for your bid and your kindness in
your attempt.
We feel sure that the winners of these last two
Holly Dolly's will treasure them knowing that they have been
loved and in the
arms of our daughter, Holly, as she has treasured them too. They
are more special to us now, and will become even more special
to others. Thank you to all and please feel free to send any
messages through our daughters web site www.hollyjones.ca.”
Since September, Holly’s parents have sold more than 300
stuffed animals to help raise money in memory of their daughter.
A variety of shapes and sizes, each stuffed animal, given to
Holly’s family after her death, has a tag attached to it
with the message her parents gave to her every day, “I
love you to each and every star, to the moon, around the sun,
and back again.”
The sale of Holly’s last two Holly’s
Dollys continues until November 10, 2003 at 11:47 a.m. ET.
